Application and Qualifications

Applying to the Graduate Program:

On-line application forms with instructions are available for on-line submission by clicking here. Applications are reviewed by the Department Graduate Committee. The strongest applicants are generally asked to visit Miami in early spring; for this reason applicants are encouraged to submit their paperwork early in the year, although applications will be reviewed at any time. Application forms are also available from the Pharmacology Program Rosenstiel Medical Science Building, Room #6174, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, P.O. Box 016189, Miami, FL 33101.

Qualifications

To be considered for admission, applicants must have a bachelor's degree in one of the biological, behavioral or physical sciences, and a grade point average of 3.0 or above (out of 4.0). Applicants are expected to have a strong quantitative background, and to have a combined Verbal + Quantitative score on the General Test of the GRE of at least 1000. Strong applicants will have a combined Verbal + Quantitative score on the General Test of the GRE of at least 1100. Foreign applicants must have a TOEFL score of at least 550.
