Research Interests
The major interest of my laboratory is the molecular basis of human
lymphoma. Our studies focus on alterations in gene expression, molecular
prognostic factors, alterations in expression of oncogenes, abnormal
signal transduction in lymphoma, interaction of lymphoma with the
tumor microenvironment and the immunology of lymphoma. To address
these issues we use ordinary molecular techniques, as well as gene
expression profiling and real time PCR.
Current ongoing projects in the laboratory include:
- Dissecting the function of HGAL- a gene that we recently cloned
that has an important prognostic role in diffuse large cell lymphoma.
- Distinct IL-4 Intracellular Signaling in Germinal Center B-cell
like and Activated B-cell like Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma:

- Effects of IL-4 on Proliferation, Chemosensitivity-and Rituximab
sensitivity of Germinal Center B-cell like (GCB) and Activated
B-cell like (ABC) Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma
- Studies of molecular markers for prediction of survival of lymphoma
patients
Additional projects are planned to study the role of LMO2 in germinal centers and lymphoma.
