Financial Aid
Graduate tuition at the University of Miami
is calculated per credit hour. A full-time course load per
semester is nine or more credits (3-4 credits in a summer
session), a part-time load is 1-8 credits. Tuition for the
2006-2007 academic year is $1,280.00 per credit hour. Tuition
rates are subject to change according to the University's
Board of Trustees.
Florida Resident Subsidy
The Master's Programs in Public Health at the University
of Miami are partially state-funded. These funds allow the
program to subsidize 75% of tuition costs for M.S.P.H. degree-seeking
students who are Florida residents. To qualify for this aid,
M.S.P.H. public health students must reside in Florida for
12 consecutive months, for non-educational purposes, before
the semester of enrollment begins and must complete a Florida
Residency Affidavit form. The number of credits that can be
subsidized per student is dependent upon the number of eligible
students and available funds.
Graduate Assistantships
Depending upon availability, graduate assistantships
are awarded to either entering or continuing Master's students.
A graduate assistant works part-time and receives a monthly
stipend and may receive a tuition scholarship.
