Hot Science Cool City
It comes as no surprise the University of Miami was named second best institution in the world by postdoctoral fellows taking part in a survey conducted by international science news magazine, The Scientist. Average lab size at the university is small compared to many institutions, and this allows mentors to provide more individual attention to postdocs and graduate students. Another added bonus is Miami's natural environment, sun, sandy beaches, and international flavor available year round after a hard day's work in the lab. Whether you're an M.D. seeking research training or a Ph.D. looking to gain more experience in the laboratory, the Postdoctoral Programs Office is committed to creating a rich training environment to suit your needs. Please contact us for more information about postdoctoral opportunities available at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine.

Professional Development
Survival Skills Workshop
Throughout each year, postdocs and graduate students are offered a series of intensive workshops involving a combination of lectures, discussions, readings, written exercises, and practical experiences to enhance their professional development. These events include workshops to enhance skills in Scientific Writing, Professional Skills and Ethics and Grant Writing. Every year National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) trainers also conduct workshops based on the bioinformatics needs of the University of Miami research community. Learn more.
